Q: Who are you?
A: I'm Martin Pryce, a painter based in Calgary, Alberta. I paint the Canadian Rockies and the Bow Valley, the West Coast, florals and modern abstracts — latex-acrylic on canvas, worked with brushes. My style sits between traditional landscape painting and a more graphic, modern way of building colour.

Q: Where can I see the paintings in person?
A: At Art Country Canada in Canmore, where several of my originals hang, and at my studio in Calgary by appointment — send me a note through the contact page and we'll set a time. Everything currently available is in the Store.

Q: How do I buy an original?
A: Straight from the Store: secure checkout in Canadian dollars by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or Venmo. Orders under CA$2,000 can be paid in four interest-free instalments with Afterpay where it shows under the price. Every original is hand-signed, and shipping is free, tracked and insured anywhere in Canada. US buyers: since 22 August 2026 the US charges a 50% import duty on Canadian original paintings (Section 338), collected before delivery — ask me for a landed quote and I'll show the full delivered cost before you decide. My open-edition prints are printed in the USA for US collectors and carry no import duties.

Q: How are originals priced?
A: By size. The price scales with the dimensions, so a larger canvas costs more and a smaller one less — the number on each Store page is the number.

Q: Do you make prints?
A: Yes — giclée prints of my paintings, made to suit your wall rather than a fixed list of sizes. There are two kinds: open-edition prints on archival fine-art paper or canvas, and signed & numbered canvas editions of 95, hand-signed with a certificate of authenticity. Prints aren't priced on the site: use "Request a print quote" on any painting's page, tell me the size you're after, and I'll reply with the options and prices that fit. Signed editions ship free in North America rolled in a tube, ready for your framer, or can be stretched and ready to hang.

Q: Can I commission a painting?
A: Yes. Your place, your size, your colours — a subject, a photo of the room, or just a feeling is enough to start. Commissions are priced at $4 per square inch, so the cost is known before I begin; I confirm subject, size, price and a realistic timeline first, a deposit reserves your place in the studio schedule, and you get progress photos as it comes along. If you have a date in mind — a move-in, a wedding, a holiday — tell me early and I'll plan around it.

Q: Do you work with designers, stagers and businesses?
A: Often. Originals, signed editions made to the wall, and matched sets for staging or offices, quoted as one package. Trade terms and volume pricing on request — email studio@martinpryceartist.com.

Q: What do you paint with?
A: Latex-acrylic, applied with brushes. Some pieces are finished with a satin varnish, some with a high-gloss resin; a few are on metal or board rather than canvas. Each Store page says which.

Q: How do I look after a painting?
A: Keep it out of direct sunlight, in a room with steady humidity, and dust it gently with a soft dry cloth. If you're ever unsure about a particular finish, ask me.

Q: How do I keep up with new work?
A: Instagram @martinpryceartist, the Journal on this site, and the newsletter sign-up at the bottom of the page. New paintings go to the Store as they're finished.
