Morning mist over Moraine Lake is one of those sights that stops you — the turquoise water going soft and silver while the peaks above fade in and out of the cloud. I painted this one to hold that quiet moment. I live and paint in Calgary, and the Rockies have been my subject for years — this is the second time this lake has pulled me back to the easel.
