Mother and Cub

A mother bear and her cub stand at the edge of the meadow, small under the pines. The forest carries the scale here — tall trunks, a spill of boulders, the valley opening behind to snow and sky — and the bears are something you find rather than something you’re shown.

Latex-acrylic, built up with brushes, the warm trunks set against the cool rock.
