An original functional-art table by Canadian artist Martin Pryce: a hand-painted abstract sealed beneath a glass-smooth resin top, turning a one-of-a-kind painting into a usable piece of furniture.
The design is inspired by the great North American monarch butterfly migration — the yearly journey that carries millions of monarchs thousands of kilometres south to central Mexico each autumn and north across the United States and Canada each spring. Amber, orange and black sweep across the surface like monarch wings in motion.
Set on a sculptural pedestal base, it works as a bold round side or accent table for a living room, entryway or studio — equal parts artwork and conversation piece. A signed original; no two are alike. Dimensions available on request, and commissions of similar pieces are welcome.
